The pricing engine, an overview

The pricing engine suggests a nightly price for each apartment and each date, from your own floors, your rules and market demand. You stay in control: nothing is sent to a channel until you say so.

The ideas

• Floors: the lowest nightly price you will ever accept, called Never-below prices. The engine never goes below it, and a floor can be suggested from your costs.
• Rules: how prices react to the season, the days of the week, holidays and events, and to how far away a date is.
• Calibration: a base price for each apartment, worked out from your own booking history.
• Modes: an apartment is Off, in shadow (the engine calculates and you compare, nothing is sent) or Live (pushes).

Safe by design

An apartment cannot go live before its checks are green. Setting the engine up, calibrating and filling calendars only write inside Hercules OS. Each tool works one apartment at a time and has a stop button.

Where to find it

The Prices list shows what the engine suggests for each apartment. The setup page is for administrators with access to nightly prices. Staff without that access never see prices.
